Argüelles is a gifted artist currently in his sophisticated prime.”

— John Fordham, The Guardian

Julian Argüelles Quartet: Award-winning saxophonist Julian Argüelles plays a unique mix of exciting contemporary jazz infused with Spanish rhythms, South African grooves and classical nuance. The quartet currently features some of the UK's most active and talented improvisers; Ivo Neame piano, Conor Chaplin bass and James Maddren drums.

An exceptionally gifted musician, Julian has been compared to sax legends Wayne Shorter and Charles Lloyd (UKVibe), while his on-stage chemistry with Julian Argüelles Quartet has been likened to Keith Jarrett’s renowned 1970s European quartet (Jazzwise). Live YouTube Clip HERE.

Laginha Argüelles Norbakken Trio produces an effortless blend of contemporary jazz and classical music, peppered with Portuguese Fado, Spanish folk influences and Norwegian space. Featuring superstar Portuguese pianist Mário Laginha, Award winning British saxophonist / composer Julian Argüelles and phenominal Norwegian percussionist Helge Norbakken. The group’s syncopated rhythms and skillful improvisation has led to them being hailed as "An elegantly soulful slice of contemporary euro-jazz," by Jazzwise. Live YouTube clip HERE
